1973 for gawds sake

Too many great shows to list - we all know them but:

12-6-73 is my favorite (at least is has been for a while)

Am horribly deficient in not being familiar with this one, so I checked it out. Love the Sunshine and the DS since I am not a fan of the dissonant breakdowns that occur in DS during this period. Stomps my buzz every time. Was cracking up at the patch in Eyes, thinking how if you were taping you'd have had to have a wad of blanks to get it right.

More Middle America gold.

Yeah what good can be said about some brilliant, out on the edge interplay between experimental improvisers in their prime, who needs dissonance in a song that was expressly designed to incorporate whatever tact the musicians were feeling in that particular setting. That mind bending masterpiece that is the 12/6/73 Dark Star is a real buzz stomper, give me a good dissonance free version like that pathetic 89' version.I'll never understand people who complain about Dark Star being what it was meant to be,how the fuck can you listen to the band and not get it,instead of wanting to hear your perverted idea of what Dark Star is, how about letting it be what it is and listening to something more suited to your liking.

I'm sure you will convince me and everyone that your view is Supreme should be shared by everyone and world peace will ensue.

That said...

I really don't need you to tell me what I should and should not like after having listened to the Dead continuously for over 30 years.

I actually was saying that I liked the 12/6/73 and it was not dissonant compared to other versions.

Plus, I don't see how you could consider 12/26/89 to be free from dissonance. I suspect it is just someone with another superior chip on their shoulder like all the assholes that would put cuts in the tapes they burned for others.

You may have been listening for 30 years, but it doesn't seem like you've heard anything, but I will spend no more time on a douche bag who could say something so stupid as"vibrating rainbow space",why don't you go to work on a thread about appropriate amounts of dissonance in Dark Star.

It's pretty obvious that you're the only one being a douche bag. It's possible to express what you're passionate about while maintaining some civility. Do you talk to people like this in real life?

He equated me with being an asshole for disagreeing with his opinion, there was no name calling in my original post, and I will stand by saying anyone who utters something so absolutely ridiculous as "vibrating rainbow space" is a total douche bag, much like you for concerning yourself with something that is none of your fucking business. At some point you chose to make yourself some sort of forum moderator, you should really reconsider, because I am a grown man and certainly don't need to explain myself to the likes of you,we all can't be as perfect as you.As an end note,go fuck yourself.

I got the stupid vibrating rainbow thing form some other reviewer and it was meant to be sarcastic.

And I did not call you an asshole. You took that on yourself. I said you were "probably like one of those assholes..."

What the hell difference does it all make? You clearly started the whole judgmental thing on my opinion or some insignificant comment, and I should have been bigger than to respond to you, but I stupidly got pissed.

My first post was clearly snotty and I should not have posted it,every once in a while I let someone's opinion irk me and I respond in a sort of shit head fashion and for that I apologize.I'm not going to split hairs as far as calling me an asshole, but that is why I responded negatively a second time.Deniro you can still go fuck yourself.
